If you are new to Instagram, learning how to navigate the popular may seem simple to you, but there are plenty of shortcuts and tricks that it may take you some time to learn. This article will explain several ways to help you navigate inside the Instagram application.
Let’s say you have taken the perfect picture and although you know you want to share it maybe now is not the right time. For example, you have just snapped a beautiful sunset picture on the beach, but you don’t want people to know that you are not at home. The Instagram app will let you save it as a draft for posting at a later time.
DIY Instagram Tips for Beginners
The way to do this is by tapping on the + icon to either upload or shoot the video or picture. Once you have the image on the screen, you can edit it as you like and also add captions, tags, filters or even a location to the post. When you have finished, tap the < icon in the top left corner of your screen, and you will go back to the editing screen. Then tap the < icon once more, and a menu will appear that allows you to select save draft. Once you make this selection, your draft post will remain inside the app.
When you want to recall your photo, tap the + icon, and choose the Library selection. You will see a new Drafts section appear above your Camera Roll. Choose your desired post by tapping on it, or if you select Manage, you can view all of your saved drafts. Once you have chosen an image, you can make additional edits and then post it.
Once you have been on Instagram for some time, you may find that you no longer want to see someone’s stories, but you also don’t want to unfollow them. Maybe you don’t appreciate your cousin’s hunting pictures, but you know he will be upset if you unfollowed him. It doesn’t matter what the reason may be, Instagram’s solution to the situation is called muting.
To mute someone’s story without unfollowing them, you will need to not just click on the Instagram Stories avatar, but hold down on the avatar of whatever account you’d like to mute. Then tap on the Mute selection. Initiating the mute function will prevent the story from auto-playing and move it to the end of your queue. If you change your mind and decide you want to see that person’s story again, you can follow the same steps, but this time chose Unmute.
Instagram is a top-rated application, and some people enjoy it so much that they can almost become addicted to it. If you want to prevent this from happening, Instagram allows you to set usage restrictions. To be sure that you limit your time on the app, set yourself a daily reminder that tells you your time is up. This task is easily accomplished using the hamburger menu on your profile.
First, you will want to tap on Settings, then tap on Account. After that choose the Your Activity selection and then Set Daily Reminder. At this point, you can choose whatever amount of time you feel is appropriate and then select Set Reminder. After that, whenever you are on Instagram, your timer will be running and you will be sent a notification when your time runs out. This way, you can be assured that Instagram does not take time away from other aspects of your life.
